MJ Malsam Brings Books to Great Falls’ Youngest
Mary Jane Malsam, Labor and Delivery Nurse for Benefis Health Systems and member of the ECC’s Raising Readers Committee, spearheaded and fundraising drive for Book for Babies, a project of the RR committee. She hosted a Nacho Night at Benefis, gathering donations from local businesses to feed the late shift workers. The Nacho Night raised $826 to purchase new board books.
As part of the MJ’s job as intake nurse, she meets families registering to have their babies delivered at Benefis. She counsels them on many areas relating to parenthood, especially the value of reading to their babies.
The Books for Babies project ensures that every child born at Benefis goes home with a brand new board book, courtesy of the ECC’s Raising Readers committee.
Thank you, MJ, for your dedication to early literacy in Great Falls and the surrounding area!

What a gift! The Dandelion Foundation donated $4000 in May to support Toby’s House, the crisis nursery. Toby’s House is a project of the Early Childhood Coalition. For more information, contact our coordinator at email@example.com.
